Each of us has the power to make a meaningful difference in the lives of neglected and abused animals. By reporting cases of suspected or known animal cruelty you are offering defenseless animals protection and a second chance. You may also be helping other current and future victims.

According to experts, abuse is often an early indicator or first step towards increasingly violent behaviour and the abuse of other human beings. People who abuse animals may harm their partners, spouses, children, the elderly or others.

To reduce all forms of cruelty and encourage a more compassionate society we ask each of you to be alert to all forms of neglect and violence. This section will provide the resources you need to become familiar with common signs of abuse, organizations you can call to make a cruelty report, cruelty legislation and other ways you can help support the Ontario SPCA's efforts to carry out its lifesaving work.
